I’m gearing up for SMX Advanced in Seattle (June 2-3), where I’ll be speaking about Flash & Search on a panel with Gregory Markel, Jonathan Simon, Larry Sivitz, and Shari Thurow. This will be my first time at SMX Advanced, so I’m really looking forward to it. I haven’t been to Seattle in a long time. My session will focus on developing a Search Strategy for Rich Internet Applications. There’s a chance we might get some of the Adobe folks involved as well, which will make for a really good discussion. Stay tuned.
We continue to get positive responses from the industry regarding the articles I wrote for Adobe on the SEO Technology Center. I’m a regular reader of ClickZ, a great resource for those of us in the digital marketing world, and was reading an article by Julie Batten on why you should avoid using Flash if SEO is your priority. We launched the Adobe site the very next day. Fourteen days later Julie wrote this article, giving us a nod, which was a nice touch on her part. In just over a month, we’ve got about 12,000 links pointing to the Adobe site. More to come on this as I feel this conversation is really starting to gain some momentum…
Keeping on this topic, I’ve been reading the new O’Reilly book by Todd Perkins – “SEO for Flash”. I’m about half way through – it’s a good read. I’m interested in some of the technical workarounds they recommend, which I haven’t gotten to yet. Check it out!
